Malama means to take care of, tend, attend, care for, preserve, protect, beware, save, maintain; to keep or observe; to conduct, as a service; to serve, honor, as God; In collaboration with NuVu Studios, I have worked in the Hawaiian Islands with young and mature minds to generate innovative ideas and solutions for the ‘aina (the land).

The Moanalua Gardens is a sacred center of hula and chanting, a botanical field of indigenous ritual and history. Through mele, observation, hiking and research, students designed creative ways to participate with this sacred land.
