In conjunction with the exhibit, Repair and Design Futures, join designer Nakeia Medcalf RISD MFA 2018 Interior Architecture for a discussion about her research on Afrocentric, co-living environments that empower through ownership and identity, unite through a shared consciousness, and renounce racism. Medcalf is joined by Kate Irvin, Curator of Costume and Textiles, Markus Berger, Associate Professor, Interior Architecture, and RISD students to explore ideas of Afrofuturism, self-actualized design, and ownership, and condition considerations.
